Since the early 1990s, Joaquim has participated in 60+ investment operations and 40+ divestments in Venture Capital and Private Equity in the Iberian Peninsula, having a proven multi-sector experience.
In the first six years of the '90s, Joaquim was Investment Director of the Amorim Group's Holding, having accepted in 1996 the challenge to join PME Capital (Portugal Ventures) as Executive Board Member, managing several funds focused on Growth, BioTech and Information Technologies, and Communication.
In 2004, he traveled to Madrid to join the GED Group. Joaquim is shareholder and Managing Partner of the Group, responsible for transactions in Portugal, and member of the Board of Directors and Investment Committees of all the management entities of Venture Capital and Private Equity.
Joaquim is also a member of the GALP Energia Remuneration Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Instituto Superior de Administração e Gestão, where he was a professor for many years.

Joaquim has been an amateur photographer since the late 70s, with several individual photographic exhibitions and photographs published in national and foreign books and magazines.
