João Mascarenhas Castro Investment & Portfolio During his time at the university, João developed a passion for the financial ecossystem. After completing his Bachelor’s in Management, João wanted to further develop his knowledge in finance, which led him to take a 9 month rotational internship at Banco de Investimento Global (BiG), where he gained experience in both private and public financial markets. João would then return to BiG as a Corporate Finance Analyst, after finishing his Master’s in Finance. In BiG, João Participated in a wide range of projects as a financial advisor, namely valuations, M&A (both on the sell-side as well as the buy side), project finance, and financial restructurings. In 2023, he accepts the challenge of joining GED Ventures, as a Senior Analyst, in the Investments & Portfolio team. He supports the entire investment process (deal origination and analysis), as well as the monitoring of the portfolio. DID YOU KNOW? João is passionate about traveling and getting to know different cultures around the world. Besides that, he is a major fan of football, having also played the sport for over 5 years in different clubs.
