Founded in 2021 in Ansião, Leiria, by four entrepreneurs passionate about the environment, CO2offset intends to revolutionize and democratize the carbon credit market. Leveraging proprietary technology based on artificial intelligence and blockchain, the solution developed by the company can, through satellite images, in-sight sampling and machine learning, measure accurately, transparently and with a certified process, the amount of CO2 captured in forest land, converting it into equivalent value of carbon credits, in order to sell them directly, or through marketplaces, to companies that need to offset their carbon emissions.
With a €1.5 million investment in one of the most promising Portuguese clean tech start-ups, GED Ventures Portugal adds another investment to the GED Tech Seed Fund portfolio and reinforces its commitment to invest in technology with purpose.
